Celestial Cosmetics December Limited Editions.

Hi there everyone!!!!
Every month Celestial Cosmetics brings out a Limited Edition polish for the month. December is the best month ever because Celestial Cosmetics are bringing out 2 Limited Editions!!!!
I am lucky enough to have both to share with you. If your looking for a couple of quick pressies for christmas or a stocking stuffer or two, these are a couple you don't want to miss out on.

So lets have a look!!!

First one is the December LE. This is a stunning polish!!! It is a combo of sterling silver flakies and shimmer. The polish is opaque in 3 coats and once on the nail is almost blinding in the sunlight!!!!! In some lights it looks a beautiful silver and other lights the polish has a slight goldish hue. If you like sparkles and shine this ones for you!!! The other great thing is if you want just some of the silver flakies goodness you can layer one coat over a base colour.

The second polish is called Christmas LE.  This is a holographic reddish polish with a gold shift in different lights. In other lights the polish has a darker rust hue.
The linear holographic effect is quite strong and the polish only needs 2 coats for full coverage!!!!

OPI Gwen Stefani 2014 Holiday Collection swatches

*Press Sample

Hi there everyone!!!
Today i have some amazing polishes to share with you. Plus as an added bonus they are a perfect christmas gift. I will never forget 2 years ago when OPI released their James bond collection and my hubby went out and brought me pretty much everyone, then my brother surprised me with OPI The man with the golden gun. It really made my christmas!!!

The new OPI Gwen Stefani Holiday 2014 Collection is simple amazing!!!! Tho there are a lot of reds in the collection OPI have really stepped it up this year and not only made some amazing cremes but also have created some pretty wonderful glitter bombs which would give any indie polish brand a run for their money.

I have chosen some of my favourites from the collection to share with you today.

Lets check them out.......

Christmas gone plaid- This is my favourite from the collection. There is no denying it that i'm a sucker when it comes to British racing green, and honestly this is the first time I have found one and said straight out "perfect". Most have either a tealy or yellow hue to to the BRG but this is perfect, If i had a BRG e type jag I reckon this would be a perfect match!
The formula was amazing and just 2 thing costs for full coverage. I even think I could have gotten away with one coat had i put it on a bit thicker.

Cinnamon sweet- Is your classic red creme. The colour is slightly darker than OPI Red hot rio, and for a bonus it is opaque in just one coat. You cannot go past a good red creme and I love this one!

Red fingernails & mistletoe- Is a red jelly polish full of little flakies. the shimmer effect this polish gives it amazing! in the shade it looks deeper red but in the sun the goldish effect from the little flakies shows through and totally gives the polish a different look. I only needed 2 coat for opacity. I would have to say this is my second favourite polish from the collection.

Kiss me - or elf!- Is a deep fuchsia almost pink coloured shimmer polish. When I saw it the polish reminded me of several other OPI shades including OPI Katy Perry The one that got a way. But after some quick comparisons none were the same. The formula went on smooth and was only 2 coats.

shade

I carol about you- Is a purple shimmer creme. This is a very similar colour to OPI a grape affair from the coca cola collection but with a shimmer. I think I might prefer the shimmer!!! I used 3 thing coats for opacity but 2 thicker coats would have also worked well.

sun

shade

Rollin in cashmere- Is a gold frosty shimmer polish. Surprisingly I do not have an OPI polish this colour gold! all the ones I own are a lot cooler in hue that this. which was a nice surprise. I love that it was only 2 coats, tho the first coat was quite streaky, the second did smooth it out a lot, but you can see some brash strokes.

So Elegant- Is a black and metallic gunmetal grey glitter bomb. There are smaller sized black glitters and then the large gunmetal glitters. There was good coverage and I only needed one coat over cinnamon sweet to get a great affect. I really liked this. it kind of reminded me of a cousin of maybe OPI metallic 4 life. Well worth getting if your into glitter bombs.

Comet in the sky- Is what I would almost call an indie polish!!! The mix of different coloured iridescent glitters in many sizes and the contrasting black glitter really made this polish stand out from the rest. It looked amazing in the bottle and on the nail just as awesome! I only needed 1 coat for coverage below. It is also good to note that there was no curling (taco) glitter in this polish which was a bonus considering the size of the largest glitters/

All of these colours were my favourites from the collection, tho I could have easily been happy with all of them!

The OPI Gwen Stefani holiday 2014 collection is available now from MYER and DAVID JONES and retail for AUD$19.95 each.
Make sure you keep updated via Facebook on what the latest collections are and where to get them.

SensatioNail Gel polish Frozen inspired snowflake Maunicure Tutorial.

*Sponsored Post.

Hi there Everyone!!! Today I have a A great Christmas gift to share with everyone PLUS an amazing tutorial  on how to create a beautiful Frozen/snowflake manicure with  SensatioNail  Gel products.
First up Lets check out what SensatioNail Have to offer for christmas.

If your looking to start out in the Gel at Home market. This is a great way to start.
Lets check it out.
Their Starter Kits give you everything you need to get perfect Gel nails at home. I did a post on what's in the kit Here. For a quick run down you will receive the following-

  • Pro 3060 LED Lamp
  • Gel Cleanser
  • Gel Primer
  • Gel Base & Top Coat
  • Gel Polish
  • Lint-free Wipes
  • Double-sided Nail Buffer
  • Manicure Stick
  • Detailed instruction sheet

Priced at $89.99 this kit is great value. One of the things I love from this kit is you receive a primer in the kit. If you are like me and have an oily nail plate a primer is a "must" to keep your gel on for the maximum amount of time.

Now on with the tutorial!!!!!!

You will need-

SensatioNail Starter kit lamp.

SensatioNail base/top coat and gel primer.

SensatioNail Gel polish- Blue Yonder, White lily, silver glitter, Gold glitter.

Foil, make up sponge, Nail Aprons (or a clean up brush if you do not have nail aprons) and a nail stamper.

Other items you will need are-
  •  A snowflake stamping plate. I used Mash 68 and Born Pretty QA58. If you do not stamp you can hand paint snowflakes on your nails/use vinyl stickers or even water decals.
  • White nail polish for stamping.
  • Clear Swarovski crystals. I used 2 and 3 mm size. you can also get plain glass ones on ebay fairly cheap.
  • lint free wipes and cleanser from your SensatioNail starter kit.
  • A clean up brush and nail polish remover to clean any stray polish.

Instructions-

1- Clean and prep your nails. Use the cleanser and a lint free wipe from your kit then once dry paint your nails with the SensatioNail primer. Place a base coat on your nails and cure for 30 seconds.

2- Paint your nails with White lily. Cure for 1 minute and repeat. This will give you 2 coats of white and a great base for your nail art.

3- Next take your nail aprons and place around your nails. If you do not have nail aprons, that's ok it just means you will need to clean up after each gradient layer before you cure it. This will take a little more time but you will get the same result.

4-Take the make up sponge and place a line of White Lily gel polish on it and then just above a line of Blue Yonder polish. Make sure you leave a small gap between the 2 colours for it to blend.

5- Once you have the 2 lines of gel polish, lightly tap on the foil. Do this with a small back and forth motion. This will blend the 2 colours together to create the gradient effect.

6- Tap the make up sponge on your nail to create the gradient. Repeat on each nail. Clean up excess gel from around your nail if you are not using Nail aprons.

7- Cure under the lamp for 1 minute.

8- Repeat steps 4 to 8.

9- Take the silver and gold glitter gel and place  on a new piece of make up sponge.

10- tap gently on your nail to add a slight gradient sparkle over the white and blue. Clean up any excess gel and cure for 1 minute. The silver and gold gives a great sparkle and depth to the manicure.

11- Wipe the sticky layer off your nails with a lint free cloth and cleanser. Now is the time to stamp your snowflakes (or hand paint them if you do not shave a stamping plate.) Use the regular white polish to stamp your snowflakes randomly around your nails. Let it dry.

12- Finally, put a layer of gel top coat on your nail. Then place your gems in the middle of your snowflakes. Make sure you do this one nail at a time.Quickly flash cure the gem in place with a quick 10 sec under the lamp so your gems do not slide off the gel. Once all of the gems are in place cure for 30 seconds. Wipe off the tacky to layer with a lint free wipe and cleanser.

Your Frozen inspired snowflake manicure is finished!!!!!!!!!

Here are some shots of the finished mani.

Once you have got the knack of the gradients this is a really easy effect to create and you can use any of the SensatioNail gel colours in their range to recreate a similar effect.
Another great thing is this mani now will last up to 14 days with no chips as it is gel not regular polish!!! All those christmas plans.... sorted!!! your nails will be the talk of the party!!!!

All of the SensatioNail range is available on line HERE and you can also pick it up at your local Priceline store.
