AN Monday Your first polish - OPI Black Crackle

Hi there everyone!
Today's AN Monday is your oldest polish..... ok so I have had polishes over the years, but the first polish that I owned which really started my obsession to polish is a bottle of OPI Black Crackle I purchased in October 2011. The family and I were in New Zealand for the Rugby World cup to watch Wales play. I'd brought my hubby tix for his 40th birthday.

Poppy, Rob and Zoe.
How little is the Pops!!!!  Anyways, on our way home at the airport we had a bunch of New Zealand coins /notes we wanted to get rid of, so I went into Duty free and saw my very first OPI stand, full of the..at the time... new Katy Perry collection. They were 2 ofr NZD$40.00 so I brought OPI black crackle which i'd never seen anything like it before, and OPI last friday night.
Well since then my bottle of OPI Last friday night has been sold, ive replaced it, sold it again..and replaced it a third time!! So I went with using the black crackle today.

I did a Neon gradient for this mani, using China Glaze I'm with lifeguard, pool party, orange knock out and yellow polka dot bikini. then the crackle over it and lastly I sprinkled a bit of holo silver micro glitter into the top coat.

It's funny, I actually love this mani even tho it has crackle on it. and it reminds me of a pair of board shorts I have when I was a kid in the 80's.

Until next time......

China Glaze DV8

Hi there everyone!
How are you all? Today i have an oldy but a goodie. Now I apologize in advance for the lack of holo goodness with this swatch..... but the sun would not shine for me when I too theses pics so I had to use artificial light to try and share the holo on this bad boy!

This beauty is one of the fantastic polishes from China Glaze OMG collection from 2009. I am lucky enough to have a few of these polishes fro this collection.

DV8 is a beautiful teal/blue colour which is well....stunning. It has a very fine linear  holo and in direct sunlight can knock your socks off!!! my swatches are 3 coats with top coat in shade and in a light box.

You cannot say this polish is not awesome!!! Even in fake light you can she the linear holo!

Theses polishes are really hard to find these days but if you keep your eye out on blog sales and ebay you may be able to pick up one or two!

Until next time....

Tri polish Tuesdays- 14th Jan

Hi there everyone!
Today is the second Tuesday of Tri polish Tuesdays!
I am totally loving this challenge as it gets me doing more nail art and using many polishes that I have never used in a combo before.

Today I have done a UV reactive Mani.
I have used China Glaze surfin for the boys, yellow polka dot bikini and orange knockout. For the nail stamping I used Bundle monster plate 305 with Ulta3 Black satin, which I have said before and say forever, is one of the best stamping polishes out there!!!!
I also laid down a white base coat with Ulta3 lily white so the neons would show better.
I created a gradient with the 3 colours over the white then stamped. For my top coat I used Celestial cosmetics new quick dry top coat. This dried fairly quickly tho it did smudge my nail stamping a bit. maybe I need to leave the stamping to dry a little longer.

cool right?!
OK so where to buy the many things I used??? China glaze can be purchased from a variety of places , tho I buy most of mine at Pro nail supply, You can get Ulta3 Here or at your local chemist, the bundle monster plate can be brought by itself or in a set Here and the fast dry top coat by celestial cosmetics can be brought Here
Don't forget to check out everyones manis for this challenge below.

Until next time.........

China Glaze Happy Holi Glaze Collection Part 4

Hello there everyone!
Today is the last of the China Glaze Happy Holi Glaze collection polishes.
And we have the glitters to finish off with.

Your Present Required- Is a glitter polish packed full of.....well actually....an odd combo of colours.
I found I had to think about what colour to layer this over. The coloured glitter consists of royal blue, white, copper, gold, and fuchsia hexes in different sizes. I decided to layer 1 coat over China Glaze So Blue Without You. The glitter payoff was good with the one coat. I liked the fact that China Glaze had even put large 0.094 size hexes in the polish which you tend not to see often in a polish.
And.... and added bonus?? The white hexes are UV reactive and glow under UV light!

Bells will be Blinging- This polish is a combo of pale blue and gold metallic glitters and silver holo bar glitter. Ok. So I am not a lover of bar glitter at all. But this polish has the little 1/2 size bar glitters in it so they don't poke up on your nail and scratch everything you brush against.
I decided to swatch this polish over China Glaze Santa Red my List with one coat, and then 3 coats by itself to see if i could build it up to opacity.Which it did.

Be Merry,Be Bright- A very lovely combo of bright fuchsia and blurple coloured glitters in a clear base. I really like this polish and I think this will be a all round the year polish. I'm actually gutted I only brought a mini version of it. I may just have to grab a full size when I see it next. The glitter pay off was good, and I only used 1 coat over China Glaze Mingle with Kringle.

So that is the last of the China Glaze Happy Holi Glaze Collection!
If you want to grab any of the polishes I have swatched from this collection head on over to Cherry Culture and you can grab them for USD$3.75 each plus postage.

China Glaze Happy Holi Glaze Collection Part 3

Hello there everyone!
Part 3 today of the China glaze Happy Holi Glaze Collection, and we have the 3 micro glitters to look at.

All Wrapped Up- Is a blurple kind of colour. It is hard to describe, but I love it! When I saw the micro glitters I was not sure as sometimes you can get these type of polishes and not know what to do with them, but with all three I will be sharing with you, they were opaque in 3 coats. The polish dried with a texture feel and was satin not shiny, tho they were super sparkly. This was hard to capture with the camera, and also the intensity of the colour as well. The polish went on with not problems at all.
This is 3 coats with a clear top coat.

This is Tree-mendous- Is a green/gold micro glitter.Again 3 coats to get full opacity, and it again dried with a rough satin look. so a top coat was needed. I really liked this colour, it reminded me of a lighter version of last years China Glaze winter holly polish.

Put a Bow on It- Is a fuchsia micro glitter, the same as the other two, it took 3 coats for opacity. I did not put a top coat on his one so you could see the satin look of the polish by itself.

All three of these polishes were super sparkly and I cannot wait to wear them again!

If you would like to purchase any of this collection check out Cherry Culture for them. They are USD$3.75 each plus postage.

On the 8th January I will be sharing the final 3 polishes from this collection. The glitters.

Until next time........

China Glaze Happy Holi Glaze Collection Part 2

Hello there everyone!

So today is part 2 of the China Glaze Happy Holi Glaze Collection. I have the 3 other foils in the collection today to share with you.

Elfin Around- This is a red/orange coloured foil polish. I do not really have anything quite like it in my collection so I was happy to add it to my stash. The polish went on really well and you could almost get away with one coat. I used 2 coats with a clear top coat.

Mingle with Kringle- Is a gold foil polish. This really reminded me of OPI goldeneye and as I have both I will be doing a comparison post soon with these two, but I do think Goldeneye may be a bit darker. Saying that I love this polish and I will be happy to own both. The polish went on a little streaky with the first coat but the second coat fixed it up and the third just finished off any bald spots.

So Blue With out You- This is a bright blue foil. I wore two coats by itself. As far as I could tell, and I wore this one for over a day, there was no staining, which is a good thing, but I also already have some yellow staining on my nails from a dance legend mishap,so it was hard to tell 100% and i'm so wary of blue foils. All that said, the colour it to die for,so if it does stain, I will just make sure I have a good base coat on.

I have to say that all the foils in this collection were a great formula and I found that they even stamped well too!

Tomorrow I will be sharing with you the Microglitter polishes in this collection.
If you would like to grad any of the polishes I have shared you can get them at Cherry Culture for USD$3.75 each plus postage.

Until next time........

China Glaze Happy Holi Glaze Collection part 1

Hello there Everyone!
So Christmas has past us and the new year has begun, and unfortunately the Christmas collection I was looking forward to the most only arrived here this week. I ordered in the black Friday sales but post to Australia seems to take FOREVER, so I only just got my China Glaze Happy Holi Glaze collection.

This Collection from China Glaze was the most excited I got from anything they released this year! China Glaze just seemed to have some very Blagh collections these past 12 months and honestly I did not buy many, which is weird as I love China Glaze as a brand. But I have to say I was not disappointed with this collection.

I have broken the collection into 4 groups. Today i am going to be sharing with you the Reds and the white texture polish.

*All polish purchased by me.

Just be-claws-Is a very bright shimmery red polish. I really liked this red as it just screamed santa's coat! My camera did not like it so much as it wanted to blow out the pics. I used 2 coats for the pic with a clear top coat.

Santa red my list- This is a  red foil with silver undertones, which if you do a good coat is a one coater. I'm not usually a red gal but i really liked this red polish.

There's snow one like you- Ok. So there was a lot of chatter when this was released. From talks of bird poo nails to vomit nails. Not many people seemed to like it, and I was even considering to give it a miss too after seeing the pics. But i'm glad I brought it!. I will never wear it as a mani by itself but this polish is great for nail art!. The white is a bright white, and the texture is not that bad. I did 2 coats by itself. The first coat went on smoothly but the second coat was a lot harder to apply. The polish seemed to catch on the texture of the previous coat and the polish just did not want to go on, so I ended up dabbing the polish on for the second coat. Having said that in future is I want to use this as a polish by itself  I will do a white base coat first so I only have to put on one coat. The other little treat I found with this polish was that the white glitter in this polish is UV reactive so under a UV light the polish has this great polka dot effect. Cool right?
I used 2 coats with no top coat.

I also decided to try it out over Santa red my list as a santa hat type mani, and it did not look too bad!

Tomorrow I will share with you the other foil polishes in this collection.
If you are interested in purchasing any of the collection you can grab them where I did at Cherry Culture and they are only USD$3.75 each plus postage.

Until next time........
