Pretty Serious Cosmetics Raes Rainbow Swatches.

Hi there everyone!

Today i have a very special polish to share with you.
Pretty Serious Cosmetics Is an Aussie brand that has been around for some time now. I am a huge fan of Pretty Serious Cosmetics and I own nearly every polish all but 3 of them. So when they announced that they were doing another Limited Edition I knew I HAD to purchase it as soon as it became available.

I was lucky enough to see the polish in real life before its release when I went to a polish meet up the other month. And OMG! it was so pretty! Introducing Raes Rainbow.

I think it is an awesome thing that Kaz and Ben are doing at Pretty Serious Cosmetics. To raise money for Diabetes UK. As a person who has a family history of Diabetes and i had gestational Diabetes when I was pregnant with both my girls. I know how much this condition can effect your life. So the fact that $5 from each polish is going toward a great cause im stoked! and was happy to buy it!

And what a great polish it is too. I will let the polish do the talking shall I?
This is 2 coats with a top coat of Seche Vite.

I Also decided to try Essie Matte top coat as well on the polish. and i really loved it this way too!!!

You get great coverage with only 2 coats and almost no VNL either!

To purchase this polish head on over to Pretty Serious Cosmetics. The polish will be available until the 31st December 2013.
If you do not live in Australia no problems! check out Pretty Serious cosmetics Stockists Page for your local stockist!

Until next time........

Hey Everyone!
Today i have another lovely polish to share with you. I was sent This polish by Femme Fatale Cosmetics to swatch and share.DeLush Polish Is an Indie brand that honestly i had not come across until now. When i received the mini of Ocean Sapphire, i could not believe how pretty the polish was and how i managed to miss it! So i swatched away and found this colour to be perfect! so much so that i have worn it twice since!
The polish only needed 2 coats over a clear base coat and then i used a top coat of seche vite.

So on with the pics!!!!

As you can see the polish is stunning!!!! and once it was on my nails i could not help myself and had to stamp on it! so i grabbed my mermaid scales plate #39 from Mash Nails and started to stamp!!!

Even Osiris loved the polish and nail art...or maybe she thought my fingers were little fishies??!!

So you can get Delush polish from FEMME FATALE COSMETICS and they ship worldwide! alternatively you can get Delush polish direct if you are outside of australia at their SHOP SITE and dont forget to check them out on FACEBOOK.

AN monday- Aussie indies.....blue or green

Hey there everyone!
This month on Aussie nails monday we have the theme of aussie indies and a different colour theme each week!
For this week the choice of colours were blue and green.
So today i have 2 manis for you to check out one blue and one green.

First up is my green mani.
This polish is by Celestial cosmetics and is from their new Sons of Anarchy Collection.
The polish is called Charming.

Charming is a green shimmer polish with squares and dots in blue green and gold. i layered 2 coats of Charming over Ulta3 frog prince.
The application was good, tho it did take a little time to dry btu a quick coat of seche vite top coat fixed that issue.
I totally adore this colour, but then im a sucker for green! Charming is available now at  Celestial cosmetics for AUD $9.95. they only ship in australia but if you are overseas check out color 4 nails as they ship everywhere :)

OK so now my next polish for today!

Femme Fatale Cosmetics has their own range of polish along with stocking many other brands of indies from around the world.
Today i chose Coldwraith for my blue polish.

Coldwraith is 1 coat over 2 coats of  Essence The boy next door (the new version not the old version) and 1 coat of Seche vite.
The colour and glitter in this polish is just amazing. It shines in the sun and in the shade. i just could not stop looking at my pinkies when i had this polish on!!!!
The polish was quite thick so i popped a couple drops of nail thinner in mine to thin it down a bit which made application a lot easier to do.

The glitter pay off with one coat is fantastic and although i used undies for this polish i think 3 coats by itself would be fine also.

You can pick up Coldwraith at Femme Fatale Cosmetics  within australia and they do also ship internationally.

so that is is for this week AN monday but next week is pink and purple..... so keep an eye out wont you!!!!

Colour change polish from born pretty store. Review.

Hey there everyone...i've been a little AWOL lately so sorry for that ! with all my family's birthdays coming up in the 2nd week of september....YES! all 3 birthdays within a week and then fathers day thrown in, i have been pretty slack on the blogging front.

But today i have an intriguing product to share with you.

I was sent for review a Mood colour changing polish. now color change polish is the "in thing"ATM and with everything 80's seeming to be the trendy thing, i thought id jump on the band wagon and give this a go.

I'll be honest, when i got the polish, the first thing i did, which i always do was to pop it onto a swatch wheel. I opened the polish and it was all gloopy :( BLAGH! but after a good shake it seemed to mix together.
I swatched it on the wheel and after 30 mins the polish still had not dried. the first thing i thought was i got a dud bottle of polish. but i left the polish for a few days and then decided to go back to it and swatch on my nails.
The polish again had gone gloopy in the bottle so i shaked ti again and it all mixed in. you can actually see in the bottle shot above how the 2 colours are mixed together.
I swatched over my base coat of duri, and once the first coat had gone on, it took approx 10 mins to fully dry, which again i thought was a little odd. but i did the 2nd coat and then after another 10 mins i put on a top coat of seche vite.

Here is the polish on my nails and when the polish is hot..or body temp.

It is the most beautiful blue colour!!!! so at this point i was forgiving the horrible formula.

and here it is cold. *please note that the polish gets a lot more purple, but even after putting my hands in cold water, the weather was warm so the polish changed back pretty quick!

So i was totally loving the colour change, i kept on sticking my hands over the air conditioning in the car so it would keep changing!!!

but what of the formula???

Well i contacted Born Pretty Store prior to posting this review as i did not want to write a negative review before learning what the issue was with this polish, and as i said before the colour is "to die for"so i needed to get all the facts.

Anyways, it turns out that this polish is a water based polish!!!! YES!!!! who would have known?? no where on the product listing or on the box did i see it written that these polishes were water based!
Im actually excited over this discovery because as a parent of 2 girls who want their nails a different colour EVERY day, i can let them use this product knowing that i will not have to keep using nail polish remover on their delicate skin! The polish will just wash off in water!
Saying that, if you are like me and LOVE the colour of this polish, you just have to be a little more forgiving to this polish and wait the time it takes to dry and make sure you put a good top coat on. by doing this you will seal the polish and it won't wash off. and make sure you do your tips, as i did not and the polish started to wear after my first hand wash.

So all in all and now i know that the polish is water based i am more than happy with it! my girls can paint their nails as much as they like, and i can just make sure i use a top coat!

But after all this your thinking.... "way too much effort" you could always give one of their other colour change polishes a go as BPS sell colour change gel polish which is a gel UV based product.

so verdict out of 10?? id say a 5. i LOVE the colour ,not the formula, but like i said before the colour of this polish it TOTALLY worth the not-so-great formula. I will wear this again, and my kids will too!

If you are looking to buy this product, you can find it here and do not forget that it is free world wide shipping and if you use the code CATG10 you will get 10% off you entire order!!!!

until next time...

And well....i little tear rolled down my cheek when i saw it!

Here is the beautiful polish. It does not look much in the bottle i know but thats 1/2 the magic of flakies isn't it!!!!

So as most people swatch this beauty onto black i went for a slightly different shade. Cult nails Timetraveler.
Now if you read this post picture polish...... Pleeze oh Pleeze can you make a navy creme!!!!! i love cults nails but it would be more awesome to have a Picture Polish one!!! im just sayin!!!!

Ok so now i have had my little begging session to Picture polish, here are the polish swatches. As you can see i have used both bottles for my swatch shots :)

And now a swatch mattified!

Ok so the Details.......
Picture Polish Festival was full of multi colour flakies. i only needed 2 thin coats to get a really good coverage of the flakies on my nail. i was totally happy with this. The polish dried quite quick but saying that i did do really thin coats so i expected it to. My undies as i said before were 1 coat of Cult nails Time traveler. and i used a top coat of Seche Vite for the glossy shots and Essie Matte about you for the Matte shot ( i totally need to get my pinkies onto the G'day Matte top coat from PP ASAP!!!!!)

With all flakies they are very random so you get a different look on every nail!

Verdict???!!! well i love it!!!! tho *Hint! Hint!* i would love to see some more flakies again from Picture Polish. and my dream?? a pure blue flakies polish. I NEED ONE!!!!!

A quick post of a pretty polish. Shades of Phoenix Ceto

hello there everyone!!
Today is a super quick post. i just wanted to share with you all a pretty polish created buy the wonderful Shades of Phoenix

This polish is called Ceto.

A beautiful shade of blue with glitter through out!!!!
for anyone who does not know who Ceto is here is a little history lesson for you.......

"KETO (or Ceto) was a marinegoddess who personified the dangers of the sea. She was more specifically a goddess of whales, large sharks, and sea-monsters (Greek ketea). She consorted with her brother, the sea-god Phorkys, and produced a brood of awful monsters : Ekhidna (the Viper), Skylla (the Crab), Ladon (the Dragon), the Graia (the Grey), and the Gorgones (the Terrible Ones).
As the mother of Skylla Keto was also called Krataiis (Of the Rocks), Lamia (the Shark) and Trienos (Three-Times). The last title equating her with the thrice-swallowing whirlpool-monster Kharybdis. Krataiis was also identified or confused with the goddess Hekate, a divinity whose power extended over the sea. There was also a Krataiis river in the territory of the Brutti, near the Straits of Messina in Italy."

Ok so enough of the greek god history lesson :)

Here is my swatch of this fantastic polish. i have 3 coats with a seche vite top coat. and a standard base coat.

Isn't it amazing???

the application was fine and it dried a little slower than your store brought polish but that is what a fast dry top coat is for!!!!!

if you would like to purchase this polish you can purchase directly from Shades of Phoenix  for AUD $9.50 or if you are overseas you can purchase the polish from Color 4 nails or Mei Mei's Signatures
