Golden Oldie Thursday Challenge - Pink

Hi there everyone!
Today i have another challenge i'm joining. It is the Golden Oldie Thursday Challenge by Crumpets nail tarts.
So what are the rules?? well your polish you swatch needs to be at least a year old. and it needs to be an untried. which is not an issue for me as I have hundreds of untrieds ATM!!!!
So what did i pick for my very first Thursday???
Well it was a hard one and the theme is pink.......and I am SO not a pink person........ but I did have my very first Pretty Serious cosmetic polish that I purchased and i have never actually worn it!

The polish is called CGA, It is a shimmery creme with a slight green shift to it. I'm so glad I chose to wear it. The application was 2 coats and i really love the colour! it is almost lilac, but it is pink.

Pretty right??!!!

I think i am going to have a ball with this challenge. I cannot wait to share next weeks polish!!!

Until next time.....

Ulta 3 Candy Couture Nail Art kit Review

Hey there everyone,
Today i have a great kit to share with you that is brought out by Ulta 3. As some of you may or may not know, Ulta 3 is a "chemist" brand you can find in big white bins for only $2.00 a bottle. This polish brand is for the money, I think one of the best value around. I personally own over 50 different colours from their range and as new colours come out, i'm one of the first to be hunting down every new colour.

For a little while now Ulta3 have been bringing out some different gift packs to purchase. I was lucky enough to be sent the nail art candy couture kit.

The kit contains 3 limited edition colours, 3 Limited edition nail art stripers, a mixing plate, dotting tool, sponges and some nail art stickers.

There is also a instruction booklet inside the pack that shows you 3 different techniques, which i will show you today.

First up i have to say that the kit looks great. the instruction leaflet was informative. I tested the instructions out on my 12 yr old and she understood them so for a novice at nail art im sure they would be able to follow no problems. The only issues i had with the information booklet was the nail shots were superimposed and looked really fake :( i would have likes to see real nails in the booklets. and honestly there are so many nail bloggers out there im sure one of us would do it for a few bottles of free polish :) but apart from that a great booklet.

There are 3 Limited Edition colours in this gift pack.

Fairy Floss- This is a real girly pink. It took 3 coats to get opaque. it is a lovely colour. I used Seche Vite as a top coat.

Sour Grape- A beautiful purple colour. this was only 2 coats to be opaque and a top coat of Seche Vite.

Toffee Apple- Another awesome colour. this green is just right. but then i'm a sucker for green :)
2 coats for opacity and a top coat of Seche Vite.

There are 3 nail art stripers in the kit. The colours are Sizzling Red, Lily White and Black satin.

So i decided to follow the instructions and create the nail art in the booklet.

First up are polka dots. I followed the instructions and used fairy floss, the lily white striper polish and used the dotting tool for the actual dots.

Next in the instruction booklet was a gradient.I picked toffee apple and sour grape.
I followed the instructions to see if i would get the same effect, tho i did put a base coat of the sour grape first to make sure it would be opaque enough on my nails. I cut the sponge in 1/2 to save some for next time and i also jiggled my sponge back and forth to spread the polish and get a better gradient.

Lastly was the zigzag lines. I used toffee apple and the lily white and black satin stripers. I again followed the instructions to start with, but i just could not get it right. i'm use to dotting my nails first so i know where the chevrons need to go so they are all even. but i persisted with the booklet and they did not turn out too bad.

I also wanted to show off all 3 colours of the nail art stripers, so i grabbed my bottle of Ulta 3 honolulu and did some nail art.

Lastly i wanted to show off the nail art stickers. They are really cute almost like graffiti. I would have loved to see them in white and black rather than 2 sheets of black. White would have been awesome on black matte nails as a chalkboard mani.

So to show off the Nail art stickers i did 2 coats of Ulta2 lily white, then 2 coats of Ulta3 citrus, I placed the nail are stickers using the small end of the dotting tool in the kit, then did 1 top coat of Seche vite.

 How cute are the stickers!!!!!!
Now I do not know if you are aware but several of the Ulta 3 polishes are UV reactive. so I took a pic under the UV light I have.

How Awesome is that!!!!!!!

This kit is great value for money and any nail enthusiast would be super stoked to get this for Christmas.

The kit RRP at AUD$20.00 and can be purchased from most chemists that stock Ulta3 nail polish.

If you cannot find one near you head on over to the Ulta 3 Facebook Page and you can message your post code to them to find you nearest stockiest.

Until next time.....

Hi there everyone,
Once again i'm a day late!!! man i'm slack but i have finally got the pics to share with you!
This week for AN Monday the theme was pink Aussie indies. So i got out a pretty polish i got ofr my birthday from the lovely Bella of Dead Set Babes.

The polish is called all of the lights. It is a Pink creme with many different coloured hexes and squares all small in size. I needed 3 coats on my nails and a top coat.
The application was excellent.i had no issues with pulling or streaking at all. i could of used 2 coats but i got a bit "polish happy"and used 3.

So lets look at the polish.... (all pics today were taken in a light box with artificial light.)

Pretty right??!! i don't usually wear cremes and glitter very often, i'm just no a huge fan but i likes the fact this polish was not wishy washy and had lots of colour.

You can purchase Dead Set Babes on ETSY and they do ship overseas. you can also like their FACEBOOK PAGE for any upcoming offers and specials, new releases etc.... and check them out on INSTAGRAM @desdsetbabes.

Celestial cosmetics- Barbies Wish Trio Swatches and review

Hello there Everyone!
Today i have some pretty fancy polishes to share.
Now im not a pretty pink girly girl at all but i was lucky enough to receive the new Barbie Wish Trio from Celestial Cosmetics. This trio of polishes are about to hit the world tomorrow so make sure you check out their shop for all the info!!!

Any ways lets get down to the polish itself.

First up is OH!

This is a pale pink creme polish. application was easy and i needed 3 coats over my gels to get the above look. i also put a top coat of seche vite on. The time it took to dry was no different than any other polish.
I was surprised on how good it looked on my nails. Pastel polish has never really suited my skin colour but this polish i think is just the right tone for me to get away with!!!!

Ok so next up is MY!

MY! is a pretty pink jelly polish that glows in the dark pink. the polish is very sheer so you will need undies for this polish. I had 2 coats of Ulta3 lily white on and then 2 coats of MY! over that. than a top coat of seche vite.
This polish is a little more tricky to put on. the polish is very thick because of the GITD (glow in the dark) pigment and because of this you need to make sure your polish has dried a fair bit before putting on a second coat to avoid streaking. Having said this, my own Lokis Lacquers GITD polishes are exactly the same so if you want a good Glow effect it its the small price you need to pay for this.
As with all GITD polishes you need to SHAKE WELL!!! this is really important as GITD pigment is really heavy and tends to sink a bit in polish so with a good shake you can evenly distribute the pigment in the polish and it activates in sun much more effectively.
After 2 coats of this polish  i charged it up with my UV light. Now this is a GLOW IN THE DARK polish not to get confused with a UV polish. so all you need to do is just pop your polish on a window sill in the sun and it will charge right up. or if you are like me and impatient a UV light or lamp will do it a whole bunch quicker.
Here is the result once i charged the polish on my nails up.

How cool is this!!! a pink GITD polish!!!! i love it!

so the third in the trio is called GOSH!

So this polish called GOSH! is a hot pink UV polish. which means it glows under UV light. The polish is a jelly- crelly type of polish  and as you can see with my nails i used 3 coats and still had a small VNL. i could have really used undies with this polish but hindsight eh!! This polish also comes with black stars.

now to check out the polish under a UV light. i might add this is very addictive.i just wanted to walk around with the UV light once i had this on! if i was ever going to a night club i would SO wear this polish!!!!!

See how cool it is under the black light!!!!!!

here is a couple more pics of a dot mani i did with all 3 of these polishes.

So i hear you saying "I NEED THESE POLISHES!!!!!!!!" well you can get these bad boys over at Celestial Cosmetics from tomorrow afternoon and if you are really lucky and you go and check out @celestialcosmetics on IG they are having a giveaway of these very polishes!!!! They will be only AUD$25.95 for the Trio plus postage.
So what if you do not live in Australia??? thats fine don't fret too much...... head on over to Celestial Cosmetics on Facebook like them and keep an eye out for updates on international stockists.
