Picture Polish Jealousy swatches

Hello there!
today i have a lovely polish from Picture Polish that  i took several swatches of this polish but doe some reason my camera just did not like me :( I did managed to get a great shot of my daughter poppy and i holding the bottle.
Picture polish Jealously was a very thick polish. i liked it because i only needed to use 1 coat for full coverage. what i did not like was that i managed to get shrinkage on my nails with this polish. maybe if u had used 2 coats i would not have had as much shrinkage. The Green was awesome! one of my fav colours.
i mush swatch this with one of my pretty seroius polishes because i think they are not dupes but really close.

I would totally recommend this polish i just love it!

nail polish plushie!

Christmas is only just over a month away...i know right!!! can you believe it! and as this year i am trying to be a bit more creative with my pressies i thought i would make some plushies.
One of the exciting things i have taken part of this christmas is a Secret Santa over at a Facebook group i am involved in called Aussie Nails. this is a group of Aussies Gals who love to collect nail polish and well basically be addicted to nail polish. I am one of these girls! so with out Secret Santa due to be posted in a couple of weeks i wanted to make something really special for the parcel. We have a $25.00 limit which really does not buy you a whole lot of polish, so with this in mind i thought i would make my Secret Santa a nail polish bottle plushie!. Yep you heard right! a Giant bottle of nail polish.
Here is my inspiration.
Guymeetsgalveston

And here is the finished plushie.
P1030430
I Started out with this plushie by making the pattern. This involved many of my Fiskars tools!
To make the pattern I used a large bowl to make the semi circle for the bottle with my Fiskars shape express and circle templates to make the top of the bottle, the bottom of the bottle and the top and bottom of the lid. I also cut out a white circle with my shape express for the label on the bottom of the bottle. it have to be true to life right?!

P1030416
I then cut everything out with my Fiskars scissors.
Once cut out i hand sewed the label with secret santa and a bar-code on to the white felt. then sewed it onto the base of my bottle felt.
P1030418
I then punched out felt letters and had stitched O.P.I on to the bottle front along with all the other writing on a OPI bottle.
P1030417
Next i made the lid. i machine sewed the felt together then hand stitched the gap once filled with stuffing.
P1030419
I took the lid and sewed it to the top of the bottle piece of felt. Then joined all the bottle pieces together turned the right way in and filled with stuffing.
P1030420

I sewed up the hole i filled with and it was made!
P1030428
P1030429
Cute huh! The bottle stands 25cm tall and looks almost like the real thing. It only took a couple of hours to make and i am sure my Secret Santa will love it!

Purple Mani for no H8 day

I started nail blogging almost a year ago now. when i started i had no clue what i was doing, and if you go through my posts over the year you can see long nails, nubbins, yuck cuticles...and yes mine are ...slowly getting better, no clean up,bad clean up and so on.
i never professed to e a professional but when i saw a blog the other week telling blogger to clean up or die i was horrified that this lovely community that had taken me under its wing was getting so nasty!

So after a bunch of...well these horrible posts by bloggers that shall remain nameless the nail blogging community could stand it no longer. today is no H8 day.
Below is the statement.

Bullying is not funny. It is not cool. It is not right. And more importantly, it is not okay.
Most of us are, thankfully, residents of countries that support tolerance and many of our families have settled in these places simply for that reason. Generations later, it is our responsibility to perpetuate that message of tolerance across our new social platforms, including the internet.

As members of the nail polish blogging community, we all share a love of beauty, color, and lacquer. Other than that, we are remarkably different: from our race to our religion to our hair color...even to our polish application techniques. To marginalize anyone because of those differences is completely unacceptable and today I take a stand against that. I refuse to allow other people's view of "normal" dictate how I behave, believe, and blog.

In solidarity with a multitude of bloggers linked below, my purple manicure represents my proud commitment to the No H8 movement. Today, November 8, I dedicate my post to ending bullying of any kind and to encouraging diversity and imperfection among our colorful community.

So everyone is doing a purple mani for today. and me im no exception.

My mani for today is from a great brand called Gloss n Sparkle. this polish is calledDecadence.
It is a lovely shade of glittery purpley /burgundy. and 2 coats cover your nails just perfectly.

And to show we are all joining in. here are my 2 girls with their nails painted too with gloss n sparkles decadence .
Zoe is 11 and Pops is 2.and i am sure you will excuse their poor mani skills...LOL....

Gloss and Sparkle Mirage Swatch and review.

I love to buy local, and you cannot get more local that a great polish brand than from my Facebook fried Angela over at Gloss and Sparkle.

I was desperate for a dupe or something to satisfy my cravings for Revlon Whimsical and i found this in a wonderful bottle of polish called Mirage.

What a beautiful colour! this polish just goes on a dream and it took only 2 coats with a base coat of duri rejuvicoat and a top coat of Seche Vite to make my mani perfect.
Now i have just got Revlon Whimsical the other week and i will swatch this too but i have to say i think i will go for my Gloss and sparkle Mirage every time.

Gloss and Sparkle have a great range of polishes and they are only AUD$9.00 a bottle.
