Celestial Cosmetics June LE swatch and review.

*Press Sample.
Hi there everyone!
Today I have the Celestial Cosmetics June LE polish to share.
This month like all of the LE's this year is the birthstone for June which is Alexandrite.
This gem is quite unique as it changes colour under different light sources.

I found this information online which shows the colour changes. Amazing!

So when I saw the June LE polish I was quite excited. The polish is a redish colour with a almost blue colour shift to it there is also some holo pigment in there too so it really sparkles!!!!
I used 2 coats and a top coat of solar rays.

How amazing is this polish?? right?! in some lights it looks pinky red with the blue hue and others I has almost a rust look. All my pics for this were not altered in any way apart from watermarking and a slight touch up on my cuticles. So yo can see the full effect of this unique polish :)

You can purchase the June LE from Celestial Cosmetics form 1st June 2015 for AUD$12.00 .
With all the LE collections there will be only limited stock so get it quick!!!!

Celestial Cosmetics The Cinders Collection Swatches and Review.

*Press Sample.
Hi there Everyone!
Today I have Celestial Cosmetics Cinders Collection to share with you.
This collection is all about the fairytale Cinderella. What I love about the collection is that the inspiration for the polishes is not the expected choices. There is no Cinderella based polish, no prince based polish. These are all about the smaller roles in the fairytale, and I love that.

Let's check them out shall we???

Essence colour swatches.

*Press Sample.

Hi there everyone! After sharing about the "gel"essence polishes I thought I would share some of their other colours. They have a Huge new colour collection, and I was lucky enough to have a few sent to me to review.

Wonderfuel- Is what Essence is describing as an oil slick type polish. To me it is a duochrome, shifting from purple to blue and a very slight pink hue. I used 3 coats by itself for these swatches. I love how you do not need to layer over black to get the shift.

Artificial Light

Shade

Our Sweetest Day- is a nude/pink glass flake polish. this is a real subtle colour and after 3 coat I could still see a VNL tho I did love the soft tone of this polish.

Artificial light

Essence Nudes- Pure Soul- This polish is from the Nudes collection. the polish is a pale creme with a pink shimmer though out. This would be a awesome colour for weddings or a work function. I also did some nail art with some gold stickers and filled them in with Essence Wonderfuel polish.

All of these colours are available from Priceline, Target or The Heat Group.

Essence "the Gel"nail polish Road Test.

*Press Sample.

Hi there everyone!
Today I wanted to share with you the new look Gel polish from Essence.

Photo- Essence

Recently Essence re-branded their nail polish to be what they have described as a no UV lamp needed gel polish.

The new polish is a 3 part system with a base coat, colour and Top coat.

Photo- Essence
Simple enough right? So when I was sent out the base and top coat plus 2 colours I decided to road test the product.
I had tried the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel which is a no lamp gel polish, so I had something to compare results with.

I decided to try one of the colours on my left hand. I am left handed so this would get the most wear. I have 2 kids as well so this polish like all polish I road test would get a huge workout!

*I would like to add before popping up results that regular polish stays on my nails for maybe a day before it starts to chip. Previous no lamp gel polishes lasted only 5 days before I had to remove due to chips and regular gel polish will only stay on my nails for maybe 7 days max.
I currently do not have bare nails I have hard gel overlays on them at the moment to my results may vary for others.

Ok So I did as per the instructions. I cleaned my nails and put one coat of the gel base coat. The base coat was a little gluggy but workable. Not runny at all. It went on clear but dried a little frosted/matte looking. This was good to know that I could now place my colour on.
I decided to try Ever Young I put on 2 coats of colour, let dry then placed the gel top coat on.

DAY 1- As you can see the colour is pretty and to be honest the shine was amazing! I was quite impressed on how fast the top coat dried as well.

DAY 3- I had started to get a little tip wear on my pointy finger and some of the shine had gone. the little pinkie also had a small amount of tip wear. But I had not had any chips yet.
Sorry about the pic. it has been raining here so could not get a sunny shot.

DAY 5- By day five the tip wear was quite apparent on most of my nails and the polish has started to chip of on the side of my pointy finger. the shine was the same as day 3 which was good. At this point I needed to remove the polish, the wear was noticeable and I did not feel comfortable in wearing polish this worn. My hubby even commented on why I had chipped nails!!

All in all I was impressed on the wear. For me 5 days is a LONG time to wear a polish and really in the scheme of things the wear was not as bad as I have seen some peoples nails.
After this interesting result I wanted to check out why it wore so well on me.
I asked a friend who is in to the scientific side of polish and after reading the ingredients, we found something interesting out. This polish is pretty much regular polish. There are no photoiniators in this polish which is what is used to make a polish "cure"in daylight. Sally Hansen Miracle gels DO have photoimiators in them but the Essence does not.
Basically the whole new "gel"polish re branding is exactly that. But why did it work so well on my nails??
Honestly I do not know. Essence "the Gel"polish is a play on words. they say you do not need a lamp to use this product. this is correct, but you do not need a lamp for ANY regular polish.

Personally I think the combo of their base coat, colour and Top coat is what caused the polish to last as long as it did. Like most people, when I wear a polish I use one brand of base, a different colour and a different brand again for a top coat. I think that maybe a combo of the 3 essence products work well together.

So what does this mean for you????

Honestly....nothing. Essence have always had a great range of coloured polishes for a reasonable price. and the availability is everywhere. If you like a colour, I say buy it! and the Top coat is super fast drying and gives an awesome shine. If your looking for a gel polish....my advice spend the cash and buy the real thing, none of these "no lamp"gel polishes will be the same as the real thing, but for my money, the essence polish is worth it for the colours alone.

Top and base coats are $5.10 each and the colours are $3.25 each, so a bargain!
You can purchase from places like Priceline, Target or The Heat Group.

Until next time.......

Pretty Serious Cosmetics collaborate and Listen Part 2

*Press Sample.

Hi there everyone!!!
Today I have the second release of Collaborate and listen from Pretty Serious Cosmetics .
This series of polishes are collaborations with bloggers and Pretty Serious cosmetics. The first release can be seen Here.
This time Pretty Serious Cosmetics collaborates with Scrangie, Serenity Nails and Polly Polish.

Lets have a look at them shall we???

Herald of the Skeleton War- This was a collab with Scrangie. I honestly do not know why the polish is named as it is? but it really does not matter and I love green polish. Im not 100% in love with this combo of purple and blue glitters in it....but I do love my greens. When I first swatched it I did 3 coats of the polish by itself. I found that it was "too much"with the glitter so instead I decided to swatch over OPI Christmas gone plaid. now saying that I realise I should have grabbed Pretty Serious Unmentionables as that is a perfect green to go with it! Anyways one coat of Herald of the Skeleton War over the green base with a crystal top coat (BEFORE my stupid cat Loki managed to knock it off my desk and smash it.....)I found was a perfect match and did not look to overwhelming on the nail.
I also tried it with a matte top coat as well.

Itksuarpok- This was a collab with Polly Polish  I looked on her blog to find out the inspiration behind the name of the polish this is what she said.....
"Iktsuarpok is an Icelandic word that describes the feeling of anticipation of a visitor arriving imminently, thus leading you to keep looking outside to see if they’re there yet"
Is a mid grey creme with fine glass flakies throughout. When I saw the polish the first thing I thought was it reminded me of a darker version of Illamasqua raindrops. Which I love because the Illamasqua polish is way too pale for my skin but this colour is great!
I only needed 2 coat for full opacity and I used my poor broken bottle of crystal TC.

Kashmir- Is a collab with Serenity Nails. Kashmir was inspired by a led zeppelin song from what Serenity nails has written. a dark rich colour.
The polish is what would call a deep purple burgundy comprised of metallic pigment and flecks. You can see red and even a slight blue hue to the polish. I also could see fine orangy flakies through out, but these were hard to capture in photos.
This one reminded me a lot of Chanel Taboo with its colour hue.
I used 2 coats for opacity and then crystal TC.

The 3 Collaborate and Listen polishes are available now from Pretty Serious cosmetics and their Resellers.
Prices start at AUD$9.95 each You can also get the Crystal Top coat for AUD$8.95.

Essence XXXL Nude Lip Gloss Review

*Press Sample.

Hi there everyone!
Today I have 2 of the Essence  XXXL nude lip Glosses.
Both of these shades are in the new Essence nude range. I like that these are both work friendly colours and have a great effective brush.

Here are the 2 shades.

01 Shy beauty.
Is a pale pink nude shade. the gloss is very shiny and the wear was not bad, I had to retouch after around an hour or so, for me thats average with a lip gloss.  It was quite sheer but gave the lips a nice tint of colour.

03- Taste the Sweet
This colour personally was like putting almost clear gloss onto my lips the colour matched my lips pretty much perfectly so it looked blended and shiny. This was my favourite of the 2. The wear time was the same as the other gloss.

Both of these glosses are available at Priceline, Target or online at The Heat Group and retail for $4.70 each.
