Nail Superstore gel polish swatches

*Press Sample

Hi there everyone! Today is Gel polish Friday and I have some new gels from Nail Superstore.

Nail superstore has released some low cost gel polishes that everyone can afford. There is 2 collections atm. neons and glitters. The glitters are more like shifting shimmers tho and super pretty. I have both collections today to show you.

Both collections took only 30 seconds under a LED light and 2 mins under a UV light. I tried them under my Gelicious LED lamp, Sally Hansen LED lamp and my Sensationial LED lamp. I also tried them under a basic UV lamp which was provided to me by the nail superstore.
I also used the Nail superstores gel base coat and top coat with all of these gels.

Lets look at the neons first.

All of the neons were layered over 2 cured coats of white gel. I found that it was better to use 3 thin cured coats of the neon gel rather than a thicker coat. The gel did pool a little to the sides of my nails as you will see in the photos but I have really curvy nails and this does happen to me with most gels at some point.
Some of the gels had little bits of pigment in them that did not seem to be mixed in but when put on the nail I could not really see it at all. So no worries there.

Pink Tutu-

Totally Pink-

Surprise Me-

Tangelo-

Next up are the shimmer/glitters. All of these had a shift in colour in them tho some were easier to capture than others.
I layered 2 cured coats of black gel and then one cured coat of the colour.

Pep Talk-

Inspire me-

Galactic-

Mixed Up-

Out of the 2 collections I really loved the glitter/shimmers. They are quite unique out of all the gel polish I have. The neons will be awesome for summer!

The  Nail Superstore sells all these gels for $9.95 each. they also sell the base and top coat along with black and white gel. They also sell a starter kit with everything you need for $99.00

Until next time...........

Christmas Nail Tutorials with SensatioNail gel polish

*Press Samples

Hi there everyone!!!! Today for gel polish Friday I thought I would pop together some basic nail art tutorials using SensatioNail gel polish.  Im sure you have seen an array of manis with regular polish but I tend to find that I don't see many with gel nail polish. Tho creating a mani is pretty much the same as regular polish, you have to remember to cure in between layers or they end up bleeding together very quick.Saying that, Gel is great in the fact it does cure under a LED/UV light and you can finish that beautiful artwork on your nail and know it is not going to smudge the minute you pick something up!!!

Lets check out the tutorials shall we???

OPI VIP sets swatched.

*Press sample/own polish

Hi there everyone!!!!

Today I have swatches for the 2 OPI VIP kits that MYER and DAVID JONES are selling this christmas.

There are 2 VIP kits available.

The 2 Tone Manicure VIP set and the Red over heels VIP set. We have one of these sets up for grabs in the Lokis Lacquer Epic Xmas giveaway so make sure you enter.

Lets check out the 2 tone manure set first. I actually own all of these colours already. OPI alpine snow is one of my go to white polishes. the other 2 colours Step right up! and Passion are great basic pastel shades when creating french manicures or you just want a neutral colour on your nails.

OPI Alpine snow- Is your basic white polish. Its a go to when you need a background, another colour to pop...like say OPI neons.... or you need a good opaque white for nail art. 2 coats were needed for swatches.

sun

shade
Step right up!- is a very pale pink polish. it is opaque in 3 coats, but awesome for french manicures and if you want a subtle colour on your nails for work.

sun

shade
Passion- Is a slightly darker shade than Step right up! There is also a difference in the formula. Passion is more of a jelly than a creme so with 3 coats you can still see a visible nail line. Tho this polish is again great for french manis and also if you were looking to create a jelly sandwich and layer glitter over a polish and then pop another coat of this colour.

Next up we have the Red over heels collection. I love OPI reds. Personally I am not a red polish person, but there is something about an OPI red that suckers me in every time and I have to wear it!

Cajun Shrimp- Is a orangy red creme which is opaque in almost 1 coat. I used 2 thin coats in these swatches but you can totally get away with one thicker coat if your after a quick mani. I love the slight pink/orange hue to this polish and it reminds me of lobsters!!!

sun

shade

Big red apple- Is your classic red. When I popped it on my nail I really thought that I already owned this colour under a different OPI name. But after getting out my plethora of OPI reds. I realised that I was wrong and it is slightly different to all the other ones I owned. And for a bonus It is only one coat. which is great again for a quick mani!!! If you do not own an OPI red you need this in your collection. you do!!!!!

sun

shade
Malaga wine- is a deep vampy red creme. I needed 2 coats for opacity. This is a good contrast to the other 2 similar reds in this collection. A great colour for an evening manicure. The formula is awesome. and dried fast as does most OPI polish.

sun

shade

I loved how the 3 colours complemented each other so i did a basic gradient with them to show how well they flowed together.

It really creates a subtle look on your nails!

Both of these sets are available from  MYER and DAVID JONES and retails for $39.95 a set.

And you could win the two tone manicure set over at   Lokis Lacquer Epic Xmas giveaway which ends on the 14th December.

Until next time.......
