OPI Gift sets for Christmas

Today I have some great gift ideas from OPI. Every year OPI come out with a mass of amazing gift ideas for Christmas and this year is no exception!!

SensatioNail Gel polish Frozen inspired snowflake Maunicure Tutorial.

Hi there Everyone!!! Today I have a A great Christmas gift to share with everyone PLUS an amazing tutorial  on how to create a beautiful Frozen/snowflake manicure with  SensatioNail  Gel products.

Priced at $89.99 this kit is great value. One of the things I love from this kit is you receive a primer in the kit. If you are like me and have an oily nail plate a primer is a "must" to keep your gel on for the maximum amount of time.

Now on with the tutorial!!!!!!

You will need-

SensatioNail Starter kit lamp.

SensatioNail base/top coat and gel primer.

SensatioNail Gel polish- Blue Yonder, White lily, silver glitter, Gold glitter.

Foil, make up sponge, Nail Aprons (or a clean up brush if you do not have nail aprons) and a nail stamper.

Other items you will need are-

•  A snowflake stamping plate. I used Mash 68 and Born Pretty QA58. If you do not stamp you can hand paint snowflakes on your nails/use vinyl stickers or even water decals.
• White nail polish for stamping.
• Clear Swarovski crystals. I used 2 and 3 mm size. you can also get plain glass ones on ebay fairly cheap.
• lint free wipes and cleanser from your SensatioNail starter kit.
• A clean up brush and nail polish remover to clean any stray polish.

Instructions- 

1- Clean and prep your nails. Use the cleanser and a lint free wipe from your kit then once dry paint your nails with the SensatioNail primer. Place a base coat on your nails and cure for 30 seconds.

2- Paint your nails with White lily. Cure for 1 minute and repeat. This will give you 2 coats of white and a great base for your nail art.

3- Next take your nail aprons and place around your nails. If you do not have nail aprons, that's ok it just means you will need to clean up after each gradient layer before you cure it. This will take a little more time but you will get the same result.

4-Take the make up sponge and place a line of White Lily gel polish on it and then just above a line of Blue Yonder polish. Make sure you leave a small gap between the 2 colours for it to blend.

5- Once you have the 2 lines of gel polish, lightly tap on the foil. Do this with a small back and forth motion. This will blend the 2 colours together to create the gradient effect.

6- Tap the make up sponge on your nail to create the gradient. Repeat on each nail. Clean up excess gel from around your nail if you are not using Nail aprons.

7- Cure under the lamp for 1 minute. 

8- Repeat steps 4 to 8. 

9- Take the silver and gold glitter gel and place  on a new piece of make up sponge.

10- tap gently on your nail to add a slight gradient sparkle over the white and blue. Clean up any excess gel and cure for 1 minute. The silver and gold gives a great sparkle and depth to the manicure.

11- Wipe the sticky layer off your nails with a lint free cloth and cleanser. Now is the time to stamp your snowflakes (or hand paint them if you do not shave a stamping plate.) Use the regular white polish to stamp your snowflakes randomly around your nails. Let it dry.

12- Finally, put a layer of gel top coat on your nail. Then place your gems in the middle of your snowflakes. Make sure you do this one nail at a time.Quickly flash cure the gem in place with a quick 10 sec under the lamp so your gems do not slide off the gel. Once all of the gems are in place cure for 30 seconds. Wipe off the tacky to layer with a lint free wipe and cleanser.

Your Frozen inspired snowflake manicure is finished!!!!!!!!!

 Once you have got the knack of the gradients this is a really easy effect to create and you can use any of the SensatioNail gel colours in their range to recreate a similar effect.

Another great thing is this mani now will last up to 14 days with no chips as it is gel not regular polish!!! All those christmas plans.... sorted!!! your nails will be the talk of the party!!!!

Celestial Cosmetics Christmas Carols Collection Swatches

To start off our buying guide I thought I would share with you one of my favourite indie nail polish brands.

Celestial Cosmetics is an Australian Indie polish brand that has been around for a few years now.

They create stunning glitter and holographic polishes which in my mind are one of the best around. This year they have an amazing array of christmas polishes up for grabs and 2 beautiful December LE as well. Ill share with you some of the christmas Carols collection today and the limited editions in another post.

As a christmas gift Celestial polish have you covered. They sell not only polish but a complete nail care system. from cuticle oils to top and base coats they have everything you need for your nails. Celestial Cosmetics even sell nail vinyls if you want a quick and easy feature nail.

So on with the collection. 

All the polishes in the collection were a fantastic formula. The cremes needed 3 thin coats while the glitters and the holos only needed 2 coats.

All dried really quickly, but if you want a great top coat to dry fast check out Light Year Quick Dry Top Coat its only $6.50 and worth every penny!

Let it Snow- Is a pretty pastel blue creme with the micro glitter in it that is just a few shades darker than the polish itself! There also seems to be a very subtle silver shimmer to this polish. 

Im not a fan of pastels but for christmas this is stunning! My daughter is going to wear this with her snowflake dress this christmas. Plus if your feeling in the spirit Celestial cosmetics have snowflake vinyls you can pair up with this polish as well.

Jingle Bell Rock- is a yellow/holo micro glitter polish which is bursting with glitter. It was super hard to capture the amazingness of the holo glitter in this polish but I assure you its stunning!

O Christmas Tree- So I was stumped when I saw the name of this polish and the colour. Then I read what Nicki from Celestial had written about this pretty pastel polish. She wrote that her tree is white with pink and purple....then it all made sense!!!!! 

The creme is a great crelly and the little "baubles"or circle glitter show through just like they do when you decorate your tree. The colours are not traditional but hey! who has traditional anything these days!!! This will be an all round polish not just for the holiday season.

Santa Claus is Coming to Town-  is a reddish holographic polish. The red has almost a slight orange hue to it which makes this holo quite unique. another amazing holographic colour from Celestial. the linear holo is quite strong in it tho not as strong as say celestial cosmetics Callisto. but still a good punch of holo!! I think this is my favourite from the ones I was sent!!!

China Glaze Happy Holi Glaze Collection Part 4

Hello there everyone!

Today is the last of the China Glaze Happy Holi Glaze collection polishes.

And we have the glitters to finish off with.

Your Present Required- Is a glitter polish packed full of.....well actually....an odd combo of colours.

I found I had to think about what colour to layer this over. The coloured glitter consists of royal blue, white, copper,gold, and fuchsia hexes in different sizes. I decided to layer 1 coat over China Glaze So Blue Without You. The glitter payoff was good with the one coat. I liked the fact that China Glaze had even put large 0.094 size hexes in the polish which you tend not to see often in a polish.

And.... and added bonus?? The white hexes are UV reactive and glow under UV light!

Bells will be Blinging- This polish is a combo of pale blue and gold metallic glitters and silver holo bar glitter. Ok. So I am not a lover of bar glitter at all. But this polish has the little 1/2 size bar glitters in it so they don't poke up on your nail and scratch everything you brush against. 

I decided to swatch this polish over China Glaze Santa Red my List with one coat, and then 3 coats by itself to see if i could build it up to opacity.Which it did.

Be Merry,Be Bright- A very lovely combo of bright fuchsia and blurple coloured glitters in a clear base. I really like this polish and I think this will be a all round the year polish. I'm actually gutted I only brought a mini version of it. I may just have to grab a full size when I see it next. The glitter pay off was good, and I only used 1 coat over China Glaze Mingle with Kringle.

So that is the last of the China Glaze Happy Holi Glaze Collection!
