Gelicious princess kate and tamarama slammer swatches

Hi there everyone! Today on gel polish Friday I have 2 Gelicious polishes to share. Gelicious is one of the best brands I have used. The wear is great and they have an awesome range of colours. Both colours today were applied with no base coat 2 coats of cured colour and 1 cured coat of top coat.

Princess Kate-  Is a orange gel that has a sparkly gold shimmer. The formula was slightly thick but did not affected the application at all. I really love the colour and in the sun it shines so much!!!!

Tamarama Slammer- Is a deep purple/grape colour. In the shade it was almost black.In the sun you can see a beautiful purple wine coloured sparkle. The formula was great and went on easy. I really loved the shimmer. A great surprise!

Gelicious lights out, french white and bikini wax swatches

Today I have 3 swatches for some pretty Gelicious gel polishes. The reason for a gel post on Wednesday not Friday you ask???  Well as part of my "What to buy mum for mothers day" posts, I wanted to share with you Gelicious. As a brand they have a great range to choose from with their lamps, starter kits and gel polish range. The application is easy to apply and they are always having great offers to purchase their product.

Ok so I thought i'd share with you some of their colours.

French White- In my search for a decent white gel polish French white has been the best so far. It does take 3 thin coats to get it opaque but it is a bright clean white and is by far the best so far. I will note tho this is the new 30 second formula. I did have the older 1 min formula and that white was no where near as good as the new reformulated version. The old one took up to 5 coats and separated, but the new version is well worth the money. Can I also add their customer service is amazing. I messaged Gelicious about my crappy bottle of french white and even tho it had been a year since I had purchased it from them, they still were happy to replace it. I am a HUGE advocate of Gelicious, and this is one of the reasons. GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! Im always happy to give a company my cash if I get this from them.

Ok so the following swatches are no base coat 3 cured layers of French White and a top coat of Gelicious Top coat.

 What I love about this gel is it becomes a great base for other nail art. like the mani below.I used the Gelicious french white as a base so I could do a UV mani with some other UV reactive polish.

Bikini wax- So this polish.......I have used it like 3 manis since I received it last month and I just love this colour! its bright and in your face,just as a bright orange polish should be! And to top it off...... It is a one coater!!!  You have to love that!!!! I cannot say enough good things about this polish. as with all Gelicious gel polish the formula is a little thick but very easy to apply. I love it!!!!

Lights out- Is a black gel polish filled to the brim with coloured glass looking flakies that just shine and sparkle so bright in the sun! The formula again is great and you only need 2 cured coats to get perfection! I love that the polish is black but different in its own right. just check out the pics!

AN Monday- Tape manicure

Hi there everyone! Today's theme for Aussie Nails Monday is Tape mani. Now I personally did not want to use striping tape for this mani. When striping tape and I get together I usually end up in a metallic tangled mess. So I opted for some washi tape and fancy cut scissors.

Using washi tape is simple. you can pick washi up from most craft shops or even $2 shops. It is like a low tac tape that is made from paper, so easy to cut and inexpensive.

I used my zigzag scissors and cut a bunch of strips to use before painting my nails. I also used Gel polish for my base so I knew I would not smudge or affect the base coat of my mani.

I used Gelicious bikini wax and Kiko sugar mat 646 to create this mani. 1 cured coat of bikini wax, gelicious top coat and then 1 coat of kiko 646 for the taped parts.

I like how there is texture with the Kiko but still super shiny from the gel underneath.

Tri polish Tuesdays- gelicious strawberry gelato gel polish

Hello everyone! Todays another Tri polish tuesday and I thought i'd go the gel option with this mani!

I used the beautiful Gelicious Strawberry gelato. This is a 30 sec LED gel polish which is a super bright hot neon pink. and it is also UV reactive...which means it GLOWS!!!!! in UV or blacklight, so an added bonus!

I found I needed 3 coats for full opacity,I did not use a base coat but I did use a gelicious top coat.

 Ok so Tri polish tuesday... I cheated a little and decided to use nail studs for the yellow and blue. I popped another coat of Gelicious top coat on my nails then added the studs. then cured, this stuck the studs fast so they did not fall off.

And how cool is that not only the Gel polish glows but the nail studs do too!!!!!!

Gelicious Alcopop Rock Swatch

Hi there everyone!

Today I have a swatch from GELICIOUS. This is a hybrid at home gel system with an amazing array of colours. They have a new 30 second formula which I have been trying and finding that it is great quality and the wear is up to 2-3 weeks.

Today I have a colour called Alcopop Rock. This is a dusty pink with a shimmer. I found that 2 coats was more than enough to make an opaque manicure. I also used Gelicious Top coat for this manicure. with no base coat as Gelicious can be worn without a base coat.

Gelicious gel polish - Sleep till noon and After Glow

hi there everyone!

Today I have to share 2 gel polishes from Gelicious. This is an Australian brand of Gel system which I am proud to say was the first gel brand I ever brought. I love the fact that the lamp is a UV/LED lamp so I can cure pretty much anything! All the Gelicious polishes have a cure time of either 1 min or 30 secs depending on the formula you have. The are indicated on the bottle if they are the 30 sec formula. 

Ok so lets look at the 2 swatches. 

Sleep Till Noon- So this is your classic black gel. It takes 3 very thin coats to get an opaque look and I have the emphasize thin coats. Till noon is a little tricky to use. I found that although you get an awesome pure black that is super shiny if you do not do really thin coats the gel tends to slide to the sides and flood your cuticles when curing. I had this issue a few times before I got the knack of using really thing coats, so don't tempt to take a short cut with this colour and place the gel on normally. The thin 3 coats will make all the difference.
The other issue I had with this colour was the sides on my nail and tip did not cure correctly. You can see this in my pics. I recommend to maybe add a few more seconds to your curing time with this one just to make sure, but do not go over a few secs, because this gel has a tendency to wrinkle if you over cure.
The bottle I have in the pic is gelicious's old formula which takes 1 minute to cure, their new colours only take 30 secs, when you purchase them you will see this on the bottle. I'm hoping to get a new version of this colour to see how the formula compares. As the other newer versions that cure in 30 sec seem to have a different formula which is a much nicer consistancy and cures a lot more even. Stay tuned :) 

The one thing I love with this black gel is the fact that I can use it for "permanent " undies when swatching duochrome polish. When swatching thin duochrome polish you need a black base, and instead of taking off and on black and the duochrome colour, I just put on Sleep till noon with a gel top coat and then paint my duochrome polish straight on top. Easy as!! then when I remove the duochrome polish (with non acetone remover) I have the black base ready for my next swatch!

After Glow-  So this is a silver foil gel polish. Do not be deceived by the teardrop image that Gelicious has on their bottles. I was. I honestly thought I was buying a gold/silver glitter gel. but when I received it I found it to be a silver foil gel. To be fair I am happy with what I got as I use this gel ALL the time for nail art and base for gradients. This is one of the reasons I am putting together a collection of gel swatches, there are not many out there and if you can see the gel in real life, read about the formula etc, it will make you choice a more informed one. 

 After glow is opaque with 2 thin coats. The formula is thick and opaque enough to use with gel nail art and gradients. After Glow is super shiny and can be worn just by itself or with a gel glitter on top. The bottle I have is the old formula and takes 1 minute to cure. The new formula only takes 30 sec to cure and again I would love to compare them at a later date. If you are looking for a silver foil so far this is the best one I have found.
