OPI Spotlight on Glitter Collection.

Hi there everyone!
Today I have to share with you the new Spotlight on Glitter collection from OPI.
There are 6 colours in the collection and each more sparkly than the next! Here are the 6 colours.

All 6 are very pretty, tho you may have seen a shade or two in different collections. Luckily I do not own any of the dupes so I was happy to receive this collection.

Rose of Light- Is a pale pinky glitter in several sizes with some fine silver holo glitter mixed in. The formula was great and It only took one coat to get even coverage with this colour. I swatched it over OPI I love applause (from the muppet most wanted collection) I thought it made a great combo. tho over black would have looked just as awesome!!!!

You Pink Too Much- Is a pretty pink and has different size glitter through out along with holo glitter. The polish does look very similar to OPI Pink Yet Lavender, so really you do not need both unless you are like me and like to keep collections complete! formula was great and I used only 1 coat. I swatched over OPI Casino Royale.

Blush Hour- Was my second favourite in this collection. I love the fact that in 3 coats I can pretty much make this glitter bomb opaque and it is not a dupe of anything that I own. The formula was a little thick but that is purely due to the sheer amount of glitter in the bottle. The mix of glitters was great and the different shades went well together. I only used one coat and swatched over OPI Hey Baby.

Chasing Rainbows- Is a multi coloured glitter bomb. There is many coloured glitters in different sizes in this polish, tho I am pretty sure it is a dupe of OPI Rainbow Connection. I do not own it so I cannot do a comparison swatch. The formula was a little thick but again this was due to the amount of glitter and im not about to complain about more glitter!!!! I only used one coat and swatched over OPI Hey Baby.

Desperately Seeking Sequins- Is a micro bar glitter polish with tiny micro bars and several size hex glitters all in silver holo. I am personally not a fan of any kind of bar glitter. I think I own maybe 3 bottles with bar glitter in them out of the 1500 bottle of polish own. But this has changed with Desperately seeking sequins. I LOVE this polish! it is my favourite from the collection by far!!!!!! The bar glitter was small enough that it did not stick out through the top coat and it was mega glittery!! love it!!!! That said, this polish is a dupe of OPI Which is Witch? but as I do not have that particular polish I am happy I now own Desperately seeking sequins. I used 1 coat over OPI Casino Royale.

I reached my Gold!- Is a very large gold glitter topper with smaller silver glitters which are holographic. I was concerned when I saw this polish as when I looked in the bottle it looked that all the large gold glitters has curled (taco glitter) but once on the nail there was very little curling at all. Most was a reflective curl so it just appeared they had curled. Again this polish is a dupe for another OPI. If anyone brought the wizard of Oz collection this polish is almost the same as When monkeys fly, tho with no taco glitter. I used one coat over OPI I saw,you saw,we saw Warsaw. Surprising I did not have to fish for the large glitters, they came on the brush no problems!

Over all I liked the whole collection as I did not own any of the dupes. It was great to see that OPI put out a totally glitter collection but I would love to see some more originality, as some were so similar to others in their collections. Id love to see some micro glitters next time, more like Desperately seeking sequins.  That said I will wear every one of these again and mix and match the base colours.

Spotlight on Glitter is available now at Myer and David Jones and retail at $19.95 each.

Until next time......

  1. Looks like a good mix Tara! I Reached My Gold! does look like the same large glitters from When Monkey's Fly. I know a lot of people were disappointed by the curling in WMF, but time seems to have largely resolved that problem. My bottle of WMF has no taco, and there were a bunch of people also reporting that their glitters had flattened back out.
